November 2016 – Gorham, Maine USA – Mega Industries LLC (Mega), an Anania & Associates Investment Company LLC (AAI) portfolio company and a world leader in high power RF components, received contracts worth approximately $3,300,000 to supply L-Band Transmission line components to the LCLS-II project (https://portal.slac.stanford.edu/sites/lcls_public/LCLS_II/Pages/default.aspx) at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
The Linac Coherent Light Source, commonly abbreviated LCLS, is U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), funded research center in Stanford California. The LCLS is the world’s first hard X-ray free-electron laser.
LCLS-II will provide a major jump in capability – moving from 120 pulses per second to 1 million pulses per second. This will enable researchers to perform experiments in a wide range of fields that are now impossible. The unique capabilities of LCLS-II will yield a host of discoveries to advance technology, new energy solutions and our quality of life.

Mega Industries LLC is celebrating its 28th year in business in 2017. Mega Industries manufactures RF solutions which allow Scientists and Engineers to create RF Systems for research, medical and radar systems, including extreme high power (5 to 10 megawatts) and/or ultra-high vacuum (10-11 torr) needs. Products include Rigid waveguide, Semi-Flexible waveguide, Coaxial Transmission Line and their associated components. MEGA Industries wins final contract for $98,452 to complete the 201.25 MHz High Power RF System at Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. This contract is for the third and final RF amplifier installation to restore high power at LANSCE. The first two successful installations resulted in awards to MEGA for a total of $450,000.
MEGA supplied various coaxial components ranging from loads, hybrids, output couplers, reflectometers, bellows, straights and elbows ranging in sizes from 3-1/8” to 14”. The first installation was completed in October of 2014, the second in February of 2015, and the third and final will take place in 2016.
