MEGA Industries, LLC
MEGA Industries, LLC
A trusted name in Microwave Technology since 1989, MEGA Industries is now a world leader in the manufacture of Microwave transmission equipment. We are your one source of high power, low frequency, rigid waveguide and waveguide components.
Rigid Waveguide
Mega Industries provides rigid waveguides in sizes WR90 through WR2300. Full height and reduced height configurations are available to meet your requirements. Custom sizes through WR6200 are also available on special request.
Waveguide Bend
Waveguide bends find numerous applications in microwave and satellite communications. Channeling of signals between different components in systems is achieved by using waveguide bends.
At MEGA INDUSTRIES, we use the most advanced methods of fabrication in creating all of our waveguide bends, be it waveguide sweep bends or waveguide miter bends.
Waveguide Twists
When mechanical system packaging necessitates a change in the plane of polarization, Mega Industries waveguide step twists provide an accurate electrical and mechanical interface. Our compact three-step waveguide twist exhibits a VSWR less than 1.05:1 over a 10% bandwidth. Lower VSWR’s or increased bandwidth can be realized by utilizing a five-step waveguide twist.
Waveguide Barriers
For optimum performance, we recommend that your microwave feed system be maintained under a slight positive pressure to prevent the entrance of moisture or other contaminants. The newest dielectric materials are utilized for these extremely compact waveguide gas barriers to assure minimum transmission loss and maximum power handling. These waveguide gas barriers are less than 1.00” thick in WR650 through WR975 and 2.00” in WR1150 through WR2300, and are available with or without gas ports.
Waveguide Tees
MEGA INDUSTRIES offers a complete line of waveguide tees. We manufacture the series tee; shunt tee, and magic tees to exacting electrical and mechanical specifications, which are available for every system layout.
Directional Couplers
MEGA INDUSTRIES offers a comprehensive line of super high power directional couplers for power monitoring, signal mixing, signal sampling, and branch line feeding. Array directional couplers, crossguide directional couplers, and topwall directional couplers may be selected for optimum space utilization in a feed system layout.
Hybrid Couplers
Quadrature, or 90º, equal power division hybrid couplers are available as a basic subsystem building block. These hybrid couplers meet, as a minimum, the following electrical specifications over a 10% waveguide bandwidth.
Waveguide Terminations
Mega Industries manufactures a wide range of waveguide terminations ranging from low power test termination to high power system loads. Our low power test terminations can be supplied in either a fixed or an adjustable configuration. Our medium power loads are air cooled while our high power loads come in water cooled variety.
Waveguide Components
A trusted name in microwave technology since 1989, MEGA Industries is now a world leader in the manufacture of microwave transmission equipment. We are your one source of high power, low frequency, rigid waveguide and waveguide components.
Waveguide Switches
MEGA INDUSTRIES offers a comprehensive line of waveguide switches, available in many configurations. We can provide you with both manual and motorized to meet the requirements of your microwave transmission system.
Waveguide Phase Shifters
Mega Industries phase shifters are available in two styles; a probe type and a hybrid type. Our probe type variable phase shifter will provide up to 45° phase shift with a maximum VSWR of 1.05:1. They are well suited to systems where infrequent but precise phase adjustment is required. These units are compact and can be supplied in either a manual or motorized configuration.
Waveguide Standard Gain Horns
Mega Industries Standard Gain Horns have a wide range of applications such as transmitting, receiving or sampling.
The high precision manufacturing of the Mega Gain Horns assure you of accurate, repeatable gain reference. Horns are built and manufactured per the NRL standards, Report #4333.
Waveguide Attenuators
These precision waveguide attenuators utilize high density shaped microwave-absorbing elements permanently attached to a standard waveguide section. The VSWR of the fixed attenuators is less than 1.10:1 over a 10% band and the variable units exhibit a 1.15:1 maximum VSWR. When requested, calibration charts traceable to the National Bureau of Standards can be supplied.
Waveguide Slotted Lines
These high precision waveguide slotted lines are fabricated from dowel aligned, stress relieved aluminum plates to provide the ultimate in measurement accuracy. The minimum probe travel exceeds one-half wavelength at the minimum operating frequency in the waveguide band. Superior performance is assured with a line slope of less than 0.1 dB and a residual VSWR less than 1.02:1 over the waveguide band.
Flexible Waveguides
MEGA INDUSTRIES provides flexible waveguides in sizes WR90 through WR2300. Full height and reduced height configurations are available to meet our customer’s requirements. Custom sizes through WR4750 are also available upon special request.
Coaxial Transmission Line
MEGA INDUSTRIES LLC manufacturers coaxial transmission lines and components in sizes from type N through 14-inch diameter. Copper and aluminum alloy tubes are available for outer conductors and high conductivity copper tubes are utilized for inner conductors. Teflon line supports are used in standard coaxial transmission line and rexolite or ceramic supports are available for special applications.
Coaxial Gas Stops
These coaxial gas stops or “windows” are fabricated to stringent electrical and mechanical specifications to provide a low VSWR, low insertion loss, compensated gas stop. Teflon dielectric and 1/8” NPT-F fittings are supplied in our standard units, however, different fittings, ceramic or other dielectric materials are available for special service applications. Brass/copper coaxial gas stops are listed below; to order in aluminum, change the first digit from 6 to 7.
Coaxial Impedance Transformers
Coaxial impedance transformers are available in 1.5:1, 2:1, 3:1 and many other ratios with bandwidths up to 10:1. These computer designed units assure accurate transformations and minimum VSWR’s commensurate with the selected bandwidth.
Coaxial Couplers
Mega Industries offers a full range of coaxial couplers to meet your varied requirements for power monitoring. Whether your need is for a vestigial loop type with a 6 dB per octave slope or a quarter-wave style offering you flat coupling over a 10% band width, our couplers assure you years of trouble free service. Both style couplers are available in either single coupler (monitor) type or dual directional (reflectometer) type. Custom configurations with three or more couplers are also available.
Coaxial Phase Shifters
These coaxial phase shifters are a constant impedance design with low insertion loss, low VSWR, and virtually no WOW. The standard travel lengths are tabulated below for both manual and motorized configurations. Remote position indicators are standard on all motorized coaxial phase shifters.
Coaxial Switches & Patch Panels
A variety of switching configurations are available to satisfy almost any subsystem requirement. When infrequent switching is required, maximum economy is achieved with the use of multiple port patch links. These links are available in 1-5/8” through 16” diameter line sizes and in 3, 4, 5, or 7 port configurations.
Coaxial Rotary Joints
MEGA INDUSTRIES offers both contacting and non-contacting coaxial rotary joints, in single and dual channel configurations.
These coaxial rotary joints are rated at 60% of transmission line power and exhibit extremely low VSWR, WOW, and insertion loss. Contact our sales department for complete technical information.
Coaxial Connectors & Insulators
When spare parts are desired, or for prototype development and general laboratory use, MEGA INDUSTRIES offers electrically compensated anchor connectors, anchor insulators, line insulators, and one-half connectors. These units represent the latest design to assure mechanical durability and optimum electrical performance and satisfy all EIA and quick-clamp requirements.
