Waveguide Barriers

Waveguide Gas Barriers

For optimum performance, we recommend that your microwave feed system be maintained under a slight positive pressure to prevent the entrance of moisture or other contaminants. The newest dielectric materials are utilized for these extremely compact waveguide gas barriers to assure minimum transmission loss and maximum power handling. These waveguide gas barriers are less than 1.00” in WR90 through WR975 and 2.00” in WR1150 through WR2300, and are available with or without gas ports.

Mega Industries waveguide vacuum windows allow the user to make the connection between your pressurized and vacuum waveguide. Typically used at the input to the cavity, these waveguide vacuum windows offer improved performance over similar windows and assure you of long life and improved high power performance.

Based on improved construction and manufacturing techniques, these vacuum windows offer:
  • Improved return loss - units routinely exhibit measured return loss of between 40 and 54 dB
  • Improved high power performance - for particle accelerator applications where higher power is utilized, widows with low return loss can be installed in series without degrading waveguide performance
  • Stability under pressure/vacuum - units have been designed to operate with one side pressurized at 30 psig of SF6 and the other side evacuated at ultrahigh level vacuum of 10-9 Torr

Availability in various sizes - units can be manufactured for your unique requirement in sizes from WR90 through WR650. Contact the factory for additional information.
