Waveguide Phase Shifters

Mega Industries phase shifters are available in two styles; a probe type and a hybrid type. Our probe type variable phase shifter will provide up to 45° phase shift with a maximum VSWR of 1.05:1. They are well suited to systems where infrequent but precise phase adjustment is required. These units are compact and can be supplied in either a manual or motorized configuration.

Our hybrid type line stretcher/phase shifters are designed to provide up to 360° of phase shift. The VSWR is nominally 1.05:1 and the insertion loss typically is less than 0.1dB. These units utilize non contacting bucket shorts assemblies with isolation exceeding 50 dB. Units can be supplied in manual or motorized configurations with a variety of readout options available.

Waveguide Impedance Matchers

For extremely high power applications, waveguide phase shifters and waveguide impedance matchers of the short slot hybrid design are utilized. Non-contacting, double bucket shorting assemblies, mounted on Teflon runners are utilized for long term reliability. With an insertion loss characteristic of less than 0.05 dB maximum power transfer is assured for both manual and motorized units.

Unless otherwise specified the phase shifters in our series will provide a minimum of 190º shift at the lowest recommended operating frequency in the waveguide band. For increased phase shift or travel, contact our Technical Sales Office.

The waveguide impedance matchers in our series will match, as a minimum, a 3:1 VSWR at any phase angle over a prescribed bandwidth. Remote control panels and readouts can be provided as required for large system compatibility.
