LANSING, Michigan – MEGA Industries, LLC, a global leader in high power waveguide, recently participated in the 2019 North American Particle Accelerator Conference (NAPAC).
NAPAC covers the entire spectrum of accelerator science and technology topics, while bringing together hundreds of experts in all fields of accelerator science and technology. NAPAC focuses on educating the experts of tomorrow – students, exhibitors, accelerator scientists, engineers and technicians.
MEGA’s North American Account Manager, Lisa Cummings, commented: “Attending the NAPAC is always beneficial to MEGA. I always enjoy seeing our customers in the same place to hear about their exciting projects, both past and future.”
MEGA exhibited at Booth #119 during the five-day conference, which was a popular spot during poster sessions. MEGA displayed a variety of products including RF Rotary Joints, WR90 Pressure Windows, Flexible Waveguide, RF Switches, Waveguide Transformers, among others.
The main attraction to the MEGA booth was the recently developed Gysel Combiner. The Gysel enables solid state reliability and tube-level power. NA-PAC attendees were impressed with MEGA’s ability to engineer and develop the Gysel combiner, furthering MEGA’s reputable contributions within the RF Industry.
In addition to the exhibition booth, MEGA was honored to be featured in a poster session on Wednesday evening, as presented by Los Alamos National Laboratory. The poster featured MEGA’s 6-1/8 inch coaxial circulator, as developed by MEGA’s Chief Technical Officer, Peter Matthews.
MEGA delivered a new coaxial circulator rated 500kW to their customers at LANSCE and earned appraisal for their innovative and technical design.
“Seeing our Circulator featured on the Los Alamos poster was absolutely fantastic, especially after the hard work put forward by our Engineering and Production Team,” Cummings added.
To close out the conference, MEGA sales and engineering toured the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB), located at Michigan State University. MEGA’s long-standing history with FRIB was evident during the tour, and the team was satisfied to see MEGA’s coaxial transmission line, elbows and more located throughout the facility.
“Of course, being part of the FRIB project has been one of our highlights over the past few years, and it is satisfying to know that our product is successfully in place and ready to serve a great purpose,” Cummings added.
MEGA will be attending European Microwave Week (EuMW) in Paris, France from October 1 – 3, 2019.
